Introduction to and philosophical examination of the theory of evolution in its historical perspective. Examines Darwin's theory of evolution as a scientific theory, connects it to its context in the history of science, and surveys its wider cultural impact. In particular, examines implications of the theory of evolution for religion and morality. May not be repeated for credit.
