Section Information for Fall 2017
A core course for the Global Health Fellows program, which is designed for students interested in justice, human rights, solidarity, and other ethical ideals at stake in global health and in efforts to address global health concerns, especially global health inequities. Students will examine ethical theories, concepts and ideals and explore how these help us to understand, analyze, and respond to specific issues in global health, including: the health effects of disaster, war and civil strife; ethical concerns confronted by humanitarian health organizations; the impact on health of global economic policies; ethical issues raised by efforts to manage infectious diseases; global food justice.
