Section Information for Fall 2018

Please note: this course is being taught by a new Assistant Professor in Philosophy, Shannon Fyfe, who is joining the Department in Fall 2018!

What is right and what is wrong? What should we do? Who should we be? Are we responsible for what we do and who we are? In this course, we will look at how we should ask these questions and how we should answer them. We spend most of the course looking at three main types of moral theories: deontology, consequentialism, and virtue ethics. We conclude the course by discussing moral responsibility.
