A team from MetroStar Systems, an information technology and consulting company, will be on campus on Wednesday, November 13, to discuss their Spring internship for Mason students. They will speak about their current projects and will answer questions about the program. Doughnuts will be provided.

Please RSVP to Dr. Gwynne Taraska (gtaraska@gmu.edu) by Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 4pm.

MetroStar Systems was founded by Mason alumni Ali Reza Manouchehri and Robert J. Santos. Its workstreams include cybersecurity, social media analytics, and mobile apps, and its clients include the Department of State, the Department of Defense, the Marine Corps, and many other organizations in both government and the private sector. MetroStar Systems counts Google, Adobe, and Amazon among its partners.

Student interns work closely with MetroStar staff and contribute to the research, design, and development of prototypes and real-world tools. There is absolutely no paperwork or errands. The objectives of the internship are to facilitate the transition to the job market and to provide an opportunity for students to apply their skills outside of the classroom. Previous students report that the experience was invaluable for the next stages of their careers.

MetroStar staff represent many academic fields, including the humanities. Students of all academic backgrounds are strongly encouraged to attend.
