For Editor of Philosophy Website

Welcome to CHSSWeb2! We have a help website: chssweb2.gmu.edu. If you are having problems with something and can't find what you need, please contact us at chssweb@gmu.edu. Please feel free to provide us with feedback on the help site and suggestions for additions or changes.

Changes

  1. Pages and sections are ordered to follow the main navigation. First, the home page, then For-Editor, then Contact, followed by the main links from the left navigation top to bottom. Don't move any of the main pages into or out of a section, as that will change the URL and the link from the main left hand navigation will break.
  2. New best practices in web advise editors not to embed hyper links in the text itself, but to put the links relevant to a page in resource groups at the end of the page. We redid that for many of the current English pages. This is current best web practice because it makes keeping links updated more easily. You can put the same resource links on multiple pages without having to update them in more than one place.
  3. Following our standard for CHSSWeb2 we renamed your page Past Courses and Sections to About Philosophy Courses. We added a link to the Courses App and made a Resource Group for  all your past courses by section in past semesters. You might want to delete the pages that are most old; seems unnecessary to maintain past schedules in this way. The Courses App will have this information moving forward so ultimately this will be too old to be useful.
  4. We created a Resource Group for all the pages concerning IPPP except for the page about supporters, which didn't have anything on it. Once that page is populated with content, you should add it to the Resource Group. Contact chssweb@gmu.edu if you need help doing this.
  5. Syllabi for current and future courses are held in the courses application.  Syllabi prior to this (stored as attachments in CHSSWeb1) have not been imported. Please maintain the syllabi at the department level for the SACS archive.
