Conflict Analysis and Resolution
A major in philosophy provides you with the ability to tackle complex ethical, social and political issues and to see challenging problems from many different perspectives. By combining a philosophy major with a minor in conflict analysis and resolution, you can add to the repertoire of skills you'll gain in working with and communicating about diverse points of view. This minor will help you to use your philosophical training to address practical issues of social justice in a global context. It will introduce you to specific areas in which you can use your degree, such as non-governmental agencies or international crisis management, and will distinguish your resume: the capacity to work well in diverse groups is frequently cited by employers as one of the most valued qualities in a potential employee.
